Depending upon what fits your needs the best, Giraffe can facilitate a Strategy Planning Program that has at it’s core a 1-Day, 2-Day, or 3-Day workshop. Although the formats differ, each program produces a three-year growth plan complete with objectives, one-breath strategy statement and multi-year tactics.

One Day Strategic Planning Program
Giraffe’s 1-Day strategic development program is intended for small businesses, professional practices and non-profits under $3MM in annual revenue. The 1-Day offering works particularly well for businesses and practices with a large number of widely distributed locations, since it offers a way for each location to develop its own unique strategic plan, which can then be rolled up into an aggregate business plan.

Three Day Strategy Development Program
The three day strategy planning program is designed to help any size organization develop and implement a three year strategic growth plan. The program pivots on the workshop we conduct with your team, in which we create the overall plan for top line growth. The workshop is also available in a two day format, in order to accommodate the size and complexity of different organization. This process outline below focuses on the program for the two and three day workshops, the one day format being self-contained in an easy-to-use workbook.
There are only few essential prerequisites for getting value out of the Giraffe programs:
- A belief that team thinking gives better answers to how to tackle the future than all the alternatives
- You can quantify what you want your organization to accomplish in three years
- The first year execution plan from your strategic plan will also populate your operating plan
- You’re willing to designate a Chief Strategy Officer to direct and manage strategy execution
- At least once a year, you’ll update and adjust your strategy as you learn from experience and the inevitable surprises that come your way.

One Day Strategy Development Program
Giraffe’s 1-Day strategy planning program is intended for small businesses, professional practices and non-profits under $3MM in annual revenue. The 1-Day session works particularly well for businesses and practices with a large number of widely distributed locations, since it offers a way for each location to develop its own unique plan, which can then be rolled up into an aggregate business plan.
Like the two and three day strategy formats, the one day format also produces a three year growth plan, complete with objectives, 1-breath strategy statement and three year execution plan. However, it does so in about a six hour work session, versus two or three days for the larger programs.
In contrast to the two and three day workshops where we complete 40 and 30 worksheets respectively, the 1-Day workshop consists of eight activities and each participating entity completes nine worksheets.
The 1-Day program is offered in two formats, public and private.
Public Format
In the public format, one facilitator works with as many as eight organizations at one time. Each business, practice or non-profit is allowed up to three participants.
The public workshop is typically conducted in a large meeting room with each organization seated at its own table. There is no sharing of content during the workshop so competitive entities may participate in the same event.
Each organization develops its plan by filling in the worksheets in an 11” x 17” workbook. At the end of the 1-Day, each participating organization walks out with a completed workbook and hence their growth plan in hand.
Main Advantage
The main advantage of the public workshop is price: it cost several thousand dollars less than the corresponding private version.
Private Format
In the private format, a facilitator works with one company and that organization may have up to eight participants in the session. In a private workshop format, an organization completes a set of activities that are identical to the public workshop.
Instead of the workbook, the organization develops its plan on wall-size 36” x 30” worksheets that accommodate the input of all participants.
Main Advantage
The main advantages of the private workshops are participation and facilitator attention. Up to eight participants may participate and the facilitator is focused exclusively on helping that one company develop a compelling growth plan.
